304/304L stainless sheet coil and sheet is part of the austenitic family of stainless steel. 304 grades contain a lower level of carbon than 302 and 304/304L has a lower carbon level than straight grade 304. Types 304 and 304L have very good drawability and excellent corrosion resistance in chemical, textile, petroleum and food industry exposure.
Type 304 is the most versatile and frequently used chromium nickel stainless steel. It is an all-purpose alloy with a multitude of benefits. It has good corrosion and oxidation resistance, performs well in terms of formability and weldability and is easy to clean.

304 Stainless Steel and 304L Stainless Steel Sheet, Coil, & Bar - AMS 5513, 5511, 5647. Both 304 and 304L can be used in the welded condition as opposed to the annealed condition and still maintain resistance to corrosion and lend themselves to many types of fabrication. These grades resist corrosion and are often used in the food industry.
304 Stainless Steel Strip Coil and Slit Coil 304 stainless steel strip and slit to width coil, ASTMA-666, is similar to Type 302, but has a maximum carbon content of 0.08%. This material has an excellent combination of corrosion resistance and formability.
Stainless Steel Plate. Penn Stainless Products stocks over 30 grades of stainless steel plate–in 300 series stainless, 400 series stainless, high temperature stainless grades, precipitation hardening, duplex stainless steel grades and some nickel alloys. Sizes range from 3/16″ thick thru 6″ thick, up to 120″ wide.
Stainless steel sheet is often used in Chemical or medical industry, mechanical construction, sanitary equipment, furnishing, automobile industry, electrical appliance, petroleum industry and other related fields. Maytun provides prime and quality stainless steel cold rolled and hot rolled sheets in different grades, mostly 304, 316, 430 and 201.
304 is the standard "18/8" stainless steel, as well as being the most widely used and versatile of all the stainless grades. It also has excellent forming and welding properties. Some applications include food processing equipment, kitchen benches, fasteners, springs, heat exchangers etc.
Outokumpu austenitic stainless steels include the workhorses grades Core 304/4301 EN 1.4301 (ASTM 304) and Core 304L/4307 EN 1.4307 (ASTM 304L) as well as enhanced grades for improved corrosion resistance. The latest addition to Outokumpu austenitic stainless steel grades is the Supra 316plus.
Hot Rolled Plate. NAS provides hot rolled product in annealed and pickled condition in plate form (PMP-Discrete). We also offer a plate product in semi-finish condition that has not been annealed or pickled.
Core 304/4301 is a classic 18% chromium, 8% nickel austenitic stainless steel. It’s an all-purpose product with good corrosion resistance and is suitable for a wide variety of applications that require good formability and weldability.

SAE 304 stainless steel is the most common stainless steel. The steel contains both chromium (between 15–20%) and nickel (between 2–10.5%) metals as the main non-iron constituents. It is an austenitic stainless steel. It is less electrically and thermally conductive than carbon steel and is essentially non-magnetic.

This illustrates the more aggressive measures required to remove oxide scale from a high alloy austenitic or duplex than a standard grade 304 or 316. There is little data on finishes of ferritic grades but general observation shows that for comparable thickness and finishing processes, cold rolled 430 is brighter than 304.
What is grade 443 Stainless Steel and what advantages does it vs 304 or 201 Stainless Steels? 440 Series steels are high grade cutlery steels, often called razor steels. They have a relatively high Carbon content and hold an edge extremely well. 304 is your plain, run of the mill 18/8 stainless (18% Cr and 8% Ni). 304 is very corrosion
